Welcome to my travel blog!

After having a conversation with Jodi over lunch before I left, I decided that I wanted to do something similar to what I kept for Ireland. However, instead of limiting it to only my time in Vienna I would like to keep a running record of everywhere that I travel. I'll also be including reviews of various places on occasion along with my stories and general updates. I've set up a blog for every country that I have been to (links to the right), but instead of making my adoring fans check every page to see where my latest update is, I'm going to keep a running tally HERE of when I add new posts to any of them.

I hope you all enjoy this. Feel free to leave comments, pass this along to a friend, and definitely keep me posted on what's going on back home. Just because I'm out of the country doesn't mean I don't think about and miss all of you!

Cheers!

Long Hiatus, Lots of Stories

I know, it's been two months almost to the day since you've heard from me and I've been holding my tongue, but not for lack of wanting to write. However, one must have the experiences before writing about them. A minuscule segment of my adventures is up now that I've had a little time to catch my breath, but despite it recounting a total of three hours of my life (and a flashback to high school), it represents a brand new country! So soak in my short time in Liechtenstein while you patiently await the telling of the rest of my adventures of the summer.

Vielen Dank!

Netherlands: Complete

I have finished the Netherlands and created the webpage for it (though it could still use a little tweaking, sorry). I apologize for the lack of Austrian and England updates, but those of you who actually follow my travels will have to be patient for a bit longer; they're not coming up any time soon, although they are in the works. Don't worry, when you least expect it there will be an overflow of posts and you'll have lots of catching up to do.

Miss you all! Happy 4th of July (a day early, I know).

The Netherlands!

MIA though I may have seemed, I've been hard at work gallivanting again. Visiting old haunts this time, with barely more than 48 hours in my home sweet home, three days in California, an afternoon in Berlin, and a good three full days of flying and waiting spread between all of that. As usual, I have many a post partially completed, which is of little use to you, but in the mean time I have half of my Netherlands trip viewable (though the page itself is still in a bit of rough draft mode), so have at it.

Bis bald!

Belgium is Finished

My December trip to Brugge with Lauren is completely posted. Now on to finish the Netherlands. Oh, and I just got back from a quick jaunt to London, so I suppose that'll be up soon, too!

Belgium, the Netherlands, and Austria, oh Boy!

Day two of Lauren's and my December trip to Belgium is up, and I've also posted about my trip to the Netherlands a few weekends ago with Kennedy and Anna, but I don't have the website for it completed yet, so it's not available to the public. Sorry. However you can content yourself with reading about my most recent discoveries and adventures in Austria.

I'm still out here and still adventuring, never fret!

Continuing Catch Up

I took Lauren to Brugge late in the fall, spending most of the day in Brussels while waiting for her to get there. Are you feeling like it's fall again with the cold weather still lingering this spring? Because I am. Thus this post isn't so obscure as it may seem at first glance. The first of a series of three...

Anna Karenina One More Time

Why? Because I can. Because I'm here in Vienna and I'm surrounded by music and some of the world's best performers and there is absolutely no excuse not to. I watched the last Anna Karenina performance of the season at the Staatsoper last night and thought it was even better than the premiere, if that's even possible.

Happy Easter, Everyone!

I hope you're spending today with family and friends and that spring is in full bloom wherever you are! I perused the Schönbrunn Easter Market yesterday, which was really festive.

Also, I'd like to draw attention to the fact that as I type, it is snowing in Vienna, Austria.

Happy Easter!

Short and Sweet

I've been able to add some quick posts from Austria over the past few days. Nothing too profound, just general greetings and notes, but they make for a quick read at least. Well, unless you get enthralled by the long article about Anna Karenina (Boris Eifman's ballet) which I recently found.

Still Playing Catch Up

I have finished the trip to Belgium with Ian from this past summer, as well as added a few other updates to my Austrian blog, such as a day of skiing in Semmering. Slowly but surely getting caught up from my travels last summer and fall!

Hungary!

Feeling bored trapped in that stagnant phase after all of the winter white has melted away (well, not that there was much winter white for those of you in Texas) but before spring really starts blooming? I have the perfect remedy! Take a mini-vacation to Budapest, Hungary via my captivating words and stunning pictures! I have a whole new country checked off of my list of places to visit, though I can guarantee that won't be the last time I set foot in Hungary. Don't delay! Go read about it right away!

P.S. Also went to a spa right over the Austrian boarder in Hungary with Rafi last week. The prices were a steal! I'll definitely go back there.

Skiing! Hooray for Snow!

Abby, Erica, and I went on a weekend ski adventure through Austria and Germany! The views were fantastic, if all a little hidden in fog, the food was hearty and very country-style German, and hitting the slope again felt so good! I really really want to get out again this season!

France is Here!

Without further ado, please, read up on France if you have any intention of visiting, especially Paris or Besançon. If not, look at the pictures and let them inspire you to visit!

Also have another Austrian post or two up.

Nordic Skiing

How could I say that I had been living in Austria all through the winter and hadn't been skiing? It was shameful, I tell you, but luckily the situation has been rectified. I even tried my foot at a new (to me) form of skiing - cross country skiing. I might have fallen (maybe even twice), but it was great! I can't wait to go again!

I Have Good Friends

Michael came to visit a few weekends ago. Granted, he tacked it on to the tail end of a med school rotation in Germany, thus he wasn't exclusively here to see me, but I was thrilled that he made it over! Thanks again, Michael! The rest of you: get on the ball already! Anyway, part one of said short stint is up in Austria.

Miss you all!

Music!

It's COLD in Vienna! How have I been keeping warm? MUSIC! Want to read about it? Go HERE!

Hope all's well!

Glückliches Neues Jahr

Happy New Year everyone! I know it's a little late for that, but I've gotten myself back into a routine so I can finally start catching you up on my adventures! For how I've been spending my time since being back in Vienna, you can check the Austrian blog, though I'm still working on the French one since I spent New Year's Eve in Paris! I have some posts up if you're a really eager beaver, but otherwise I'm going to wait to post the link to the blog. I have a lot of empty and incomplete posts and I just don't think it's visually appealing enough yet to display to the public. So, a little more patience, pretty please.

Bis bald!
