Welcome to my travel blog!

After having a conversation with Jodi over lunch before I left, I decided that I wanted to do something similar to what I kept for Ireland. However, instead of limiting it to only my time in Vienna I would like to keep a running record of everywhere that I travel. I'll also be including reviews of various places on occasion along with my stories and general updates. I've set up a blog for every country that I have been to (links to the right), but instead of making my adoring fans check every page to see where my latest update is, I'm going to keep a running tally HERE of when I add new posts to any of them.

I hope you all enjoy this. Feel free to leave comments, pass this along to a friend, and definitely keep me posted on what's going on back home. Just because I'm out of the country doesn't mean I don't think about and miss all of you!

Cheers!

Belgium, the Netherlands, and Austria, oh Boy!

Day two of Lauren's and my December trip to Belgium is up, and I've also posted about my trip to the Netherlands a few weekends ago with Kennedy and Anna, but I don't have the website for it completed yet, so it's not available to the public. Sorry. However you can content yourself with reading about my most recent discoveries and adventures in Austria.

I'm still out here and still adventuring, never fret!

Anna Karenina One More Time

Why? Because I can. Because I'm here in Vienna and I'm surrounded by music and some of the world's best performers and there is absolutely no excuse not to. I watched the last Anna Karenina performance of the season at the Staatsoper last night and thought it was even better than the premiere, if that's even possible.

Happy Easter, Everyone!

I hope you're spending today with family and friends and that spring is in full bloom wherever you are! I perused the Schönbrunn Easter Market yesterday, which was really festive.

Also, I'd like to draw attention to the fact that as I type, it is snowing in Vienna, Austria.

Happy Easter!

Short and Sweet

I've been able to add some quick posts from Austria over the past few days. Nothing too profound, just general greetings and notes, but they make for a quick read at least. Well, unless you get enthralled by the long article about Anna Karenina (Boris Eifman's ballet) which I recently found.

Still Playing Catch Up

I have finished the trip to Belgium with Ian from this past summer, as well as added a few other updates to my Austrian blog, such as a day of skiing in Semmering. Slowly but surely getting caught up from my travels last summer and fall!

Skiing! Hooray for Snow!

Abby, Erica, and I went on a weekend ski adventure through Austria and Germany! The views were fantastic, if all a little hidden in fog, the food was hearty and very country-style German, and hitting the slope again felt so good! I really really want to get out again this season!

France is Here!

Without further ado, please, read up on France if you have any intention of visiting, especially Paris or Besançon. If not, look at the pictures and let them inspire you to visit!

Also have another Austrian post or two up.

Nordic Skiing

How could I say that I had been living in Austria all through the winter and hadn't been skiing? It was shameful, I tell you, but luckily the situation has been rectified. I even tried my foot at a new (to me) form of skiing - cross country skiing. I might have fallen (maybe even twice), but it was great! I can't wait to go again!

Michael's Visit Completed

Again, I'm so glad he was able to come out! The rest of his trip is up.

I Have Good Friends

Michael came to visit a few weekends ago. Granted, he tacked it on to the tail end of a med school rotation in Germany, thus he wasn't exclusively here to see me, but I was thrilled that he made it over! Thanks again, Michael! The rest of you: get on the ball already! Anyway, part one of said short stint is up in Austria.

Miss you all!

Music!

It's COLD in Vienna! How have I been keeping warm? MUSIC! Want to read about it? Go HERE!

Hope all's well!

Glückliches Neues Jahr

Happy New Year everyone! I know it's a little late for that, but I've gotten myself back into a routine so I can finally start catching you up on my adventures! For how I've been spending my time since being back in Vienna, you can check the Austrian blog, though I'm still working on the French one since I spent New Year's Eve in Paris! I have some posts up if you're a really eager beaver, but otherwise I'm going to wait to post the link to the blog. I have a lot of empty and incomplete posts and I just don't think it's visually appealing enough yet to display to the public. So, a little more patience, pretty please.

Bis bald!

Because in My Humble Opinion You Just Can't Have Enough Christmas

Thus, even though it's past Christmas, I wanted to extend the cheer a little longer and share some of Vienna's Christmas spirit with everyone. Happy New Year to all!

A Little Closer to Home

No pun intended...

Although I haven't completely caught up on the Belgian blog, I realize that I have been neglecting reporting on happenings in and around Wien, so back to that one for the latest read.

Germany AND Austria

Does it get much better?! Don't delay another moment - go and read to your heart's content!

One More Austrian Post

On a more upbeat note.

Speaking of Fiascos...

If you read my last little post from Austria, well, I'm continuing that theme. Fingers crossed those are the only two that fall into that category for a (long) while.

Friends from France

Okay, so only one friend from France, but Lauren came to visit me last week. We had a blast in Vienna (not to mention it was great catching up with her). For 90% of our week together, read here. For the last 10% - the attempted bike trip down the Danube - you'll need to wait a bit; that one merits its very own post.

Back in the Saddle

Well, in the instance of bikes, not horses... yet. But more on both here!

Wondering what I've been up to this past week?

Even more exciting than buying a bike, I rode a horse!!

Oh, and I suppose I had a pretty good weekend on top of that...
